Police are continuing to appeal for information after an unattended dinghy was found at Hihi Beach on 11 June.
The owner of the light blue dingy, approximately 6 feet with a worn off-white interior, has since come forward, however Police are still after witnesses who may have seen the dinghy prior to it being located.
New information suggests the vessel had been stolen prior to it being found abandoned.
A fishing net with floats, three freshly caught fish, a loose seat cushion and a wooden bench seat were located inside.
