Police responding to multiple calls of dangerous driving and traffic offending in Waikato West have taken one person into custody.
Around 8.15pm yesterday, several calls were made about a blue sedan reportedly doing burnouts and putting other vehicles at risk on Old Mountain Road in Karamu.
Police located the vehicle sometime later crashed into a ditch, where the driver and passenger fled the scene, but Police caught up to them.

On Friday 17 July, Police were notified of a group of youths entering a store on Te Rapa Road at around 3.10pm.
Inspector Hywel Jones says the alleged offenders targeted a number of items, including a mobile phone and a knife, before leaving the area.
“Although the youths had left before Police arrived, they did not get far.
