He was Brendon James Perry, 49, of Nelson.
Police continue to provide support his loved ones, who have requested privacy at this difficult time.

Police continue to make enquiries after the death of two people in a serious incident in Tāhunanui, Nelson, last week.
Our examination at the Parkers Road property has been completed. The scene has been blessed and handed back to the owners.
The post-mortem examinations have also been completed.
Police continue to gather information, which will be provided to the Coroner.
We also continue to provide support to the loved ones of those who died.
