A man is due to appear in court on serious driving charges following an incident on State Highway 1, Waikanae last night.
Just before 8:25pm Police noticed a person driving at nearly twice the speed limit travelling south on the Kāpiti Expressway towards Waikanae. The driver failed to stop for Police and a pursuit was not initiated due to the manner of driving.
adminPolice are working to locate Dan Blue Poutu, who has a warrant for his arrest and is actively avoiding Police.
The 20-year-old is wanted by Police for failing to appear in court and removing his electronically monitored bracelet.
He has links to south Auckland and is believed to be in the wider Auckland area.
Poutu is considered dangerous and should not be approached.

On Friday afternoon Police received a report of a man entering a liquor store in Henderson Valley Road, Henderson and allegedly taking three bottles of alcohol before leaving the store without paying.
About 15 minutes after receiving the report, Police sighted a vehicle matching the description provided and signalled for the vehicle to stop.
