Police have made an arrest following a lengthy investigation into a dog attack which killed a woman in Kaihu earlier this year.
Following a six-month investigation, Police have today charged a Kaihu man, the owner of the dogs, with manslaughter.
Emergency services responded to the rural address off State Highway 12 at about 11.25am on 17 February.
Sadly, Mihiata Te Rore had suffered unsurvivable injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Around 5.45pm on Sunday, the Rescue Coordination Centre New Zealand (RCCNZ) received a notification from a satellite emergency notification device (SEND), similar to a personal locator beacon (PLB), from within Kaweka Forest Park.
RCCNZ coordinated an operation to find them, supported by Police Search and Rescue (SAR), and Land, Search and Rescue (LandSAR) Hawke’s Bay.
adminEmergency services are in attendance at an incident at Baldwin Ave train station in Mt Albert.
The incident was reported at 3.28pm.
There is no ongoing risk, but Police ask the public to avoid the station at this time.
