One person has died following a two-vehicle crash in South Head this afternoon.
Initial indications are that a vehicle was seen travelling along Tarawera Road in excess of the speed limit.
Police then came across the vehicle after it crashed at the intersection of South Head Road and Evans Road at around 12.20pm.
One person was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.
adminPolice can now confirm the body located in Lake Rotokākahi/Green Lake last Thursday has been identified as Jeremy Palmer Robertson.
Officers have undertaken various searches in this area since a vehicle he was believed to be driving was located in the lake’s carpark on 16 October last year.
Robertson had been sought in relation to the murder of his mother, Karen Gilbert-Palmer, in Pahiatua on 15 October.
“We can confirm that no other people are sought in relation to Karen’s murder,” says Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Thompson.
adminPolice can now confirm the name of the person who died following a crash involving a car and cyclist on Lytton Road in Gisborne on 5 September.
He was Terrance Donovan, 85, of Gisborne.
Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this incredibly hard time.
Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing.
