Police investigating a robbery at a Gisborne dairy this morning are appealing for help from the public.
Shortly after 7:45am today, three hooded and masked young males entered a store on Aberdeen Road, reportedly damaging property as they stole cigarettes, tobacco, and the cash registers. The value of the stolen goods was approximately $3,000 and the cost of the damage is yet to be determined.

Police can confirm one person has died following a crash involving a car and a train near Invercargill today.
The crash occurred about 1.20pm, near the intersection of East Road (State Highway 1) and Mill Road South when the vehicle was hit by a train.
The sole occupant of the vehicle died at the scene.
An investigation into the circumstances is ongoing.
