Media Advisory: Epsom incident

Police will be available to speak to media this afternoon following this morning’s incident in Epsom.

Auckland City District Commander Superintendent Sunny Patel will speak at a media stand-up at 1pm.

The stand-up will be held at the Auckland City Police Hub, 13-15 College Hill.

Police launch investigation after man’s death in Palmerston North

Attributable to Acting Manawatu Area Commander Inspector Phil Ward:

Police have launched an investigation after the death of a man during an incident in Highbury yesterday. 

At around 11.20am, Police sighted a person with an outstanding arrest warrant to arrest who was travelling in a vehicle on Wilson Crescent.

On seeing Police, the vehicle stopped and pulled into a driveway, and two people then fled on foot.

Laying the foundation for burglary charges

Quick work by Auckland City Police nailed down a suspect and recovered stolen tools following a burglary at a Parnell construction site.

Late last week, Police received a report of burglary from a construction site in Parnell Road.

Over $8000 worth of tools were allegedly taken, including drills, saws and batteries.

Detective Senior Sergeant Martin Friend, Auckland City CIB, says the file was referred to the Auckland City Central Tactical Crime Unit (TCU) on Sunday.

Man dies following incident in Palmerston North

Police have located a male deceased at a property in Highbury today.

Emergency services were called to a Wilson Cres property at around 11:30am today, where a man was located unresponsive.

Police notified ambulance and immediately commenced first aid. Unfortunately this was unsuccessful, and the man was confirmed deceased a short time later.

Enquiries are underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.

Appeal for information following Rotorua crash

Bay of Plenty Police investigating a crash involving a Police vehicle in Rotorua last week are seeking the public’s assistance.

The crash involved a Police vehicle and a motorbike at around 2:35pm on Tuesday 28 July, on Malfroy Road. No injuries were reported.

Police want to identify and speak to the person pictured, as we believe they may have information that could assist our investigation. 

We’re also seeking any witnesses to the crash.

Game over: Cops lock up alleged burglar

An attentive woman has aided in the recovery of her brother’s car after it was stolen from their Te Atatū South home in broad daylight on Saturday. 

At about 2.30pm, Police received a call from a woman stating she had just seen her brother’s vehicle being driven by an unknown woman away from their home on Miltonia Avenue.

Waitematā West Area Prevention Manager, Acting Inspector Nick Salter, says it appears the alleged offender entered the house while the victim was busy gaming on the computer
