Arrest after firearms incident in Dargaville

A man has been charged over a firearms incident that occurred at a Dargaville address on Thursday night.

Police responded at 6.40pm to Ranfurly Street following reports of a family harm incident.

Inspector Maria Nordstrom, Whangārei-Kaipara Area Commander, says it was reported a man had allegedly presented a firearm, before firing a shot into an unoccupied garage on the property.

“Our staff responded into the area, and took this man into custody,” Inspector Nordstrom says.

Appeal for witnesses, Kauri fatal crash

Location:
Northland

Police are continuing to make enquiries following a fatal crash in Kauri earlier this week.

The crash occurred on State Highway 1 just before 8.30pm on Monday 3 August and sadly one person was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Detective Senior Sergent Shane Pilmer, Northland CIB, says Police would still like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or who might have dashcam footage.

“We would like to thank everyone who has spoken to us so far, however we understand there were a number of vehicles in that area at the time.

We have just shipped an updated Steam Client to the Preview/Beta channel.

Operation targets meth linked to Mongols

A five month-long Police operation has disrupted a methamphetamine importation ring, and in process shut down the North Island pad for the Mongols gang. 

Five people associated to the Mongols Outlaw Motorcycle Gang North Island Chapter face serious charges in court.

In the past month, the National Organised Crime Group’s Motorcycle Gang Unit terminated Operation Raider, with the assistance of the Gang Disruption Units based in Auckland.

BOP Police put the brakes on dirt bike

Bay of Plenty Police have impounded another dirt bike as part of an ongoing enforcement operation to target illegal and dangerous dirt bike behaviour.

At approximately 1230 yesterday Police seized and impounded an illegal dirt bike in Papamoa.

A 21-year-old man was spoke to and infringement notices issued. His bike was impounded as he had previously been forbidden to drive.

Epsom arrest: Police confirm 14 charges

Police acknowledge this morning’s events have been extremely confronting for our Epsom community.

A 49-year-old man is in custody and will be facing a multitude of charges. The public can be reassured that there is no ongoing risk following on from this event.

An investigation team has been stood up to piece together what we know are six separate incidents that unfolded in relatively quick succession around the Manukau Road area.

Auckland City District Commander Superintendent Sunny Patel provided a public update this afternoon:

Search for missing woman Natalie is suspended, Golden Bay

Attribute to Nelson Search and Rescue Incident Controller, Senior Constable Jonathan Fris: 

The search for missing woman Natalie Alexander-Browning, 80, in Golden Bay has formally been suspended. 

Natalie was reported missing from her home address in Pōhara, on Monday 6 July, and she was last seen entering the water of a nearby beach.

Three arrests following 24kg opium interception

Three people have been arrested after an investigation by the Tauranga Crime Investigation Branch targeting the importation and distribution of opium.

Police became involved after parcels containing 24kg of the class B controlled drug were intercepted by Customs between 1 June and 19 July. The drugs were intercepted in Auckland but were destined for Western Bay of Plenty. The parcels were sent from the United Kingdom and India.
